Founded in 1986 by Jane D. Wurwand, Dermalogica is now a worldwide recognised and respected brand.

Jane started out as a UK trained skin therapist. After moving to the USA from the UK in 1983, Jane found that America lacked the level of training she received in the UK. Jane used her training and knowledge to open a small training programme in California for therapists, which became The International Dermal Institute (IDI). Today, the IDI has grown substantially, with 37 locations worldwide.

It was during this time that Jane realised she hadn’t come across a product line she believed focused on skin health. She had a vision of a brand without harsh irritants and spot causing ingredients and with clean, non fussy branding; and so Dermalogica was born.

Dermalogica is now accessible in 80 countries around the world. Loved by people the world over. Professional Skin Therapists and clients alike, as well as having some pretty famous celebrity fans!

In recent years, Jane has used her success to help others. And in 1999 formed the Dermalogica Foundation, to support women and girls in gaining economic security for themselves and their families.

The following year FITE was born. Helping women to gain financial independence through entrepreneurship. Working alongside Kiva, the world’s first and largest nonprofit online microlending marketplace, giving women around the world, the chance to invest in their future.
